We have been anxiously waiting, what has felt like this entire pregnancy to find out what we are having. In a way it was good and bad for us I think. From day one when I would ask Gavin if mommy was having a baby boy or a baby girl he would ALWAYS answer a baby girl. Even when I changed the question around, just to make sure he was not just saying what I said last. Always the same answer, baby girl. Daddy also had a strong feeling that it was going to be a lil lady, and by the 25 week I was sure it was a girl. Then I got to thinking, what if it was not a girl? My heart sank a little just because I had built up this beautiful daughter of mine in my head. Truth be told, I would have been happy with a boy or a girl. My only wish as a mother was that the baby was healthy and happy. I started calling the baby a boy just a week or so before the ultrasound just to make sure that IF it was a boy, I would not be too surprised. On Sept 22, 2011 we went in for our ultrasound, I was 2 days away from being 30 weeks. I was in the office for what felt like an eternity, and finally the Doctor came in. He looked the baby up and down, checked fluids, counted the heartbeat, looked at organs and the spine and then asked if we wanted to know what the baby was going to be. My heart stopped for a minute and I looked at Sean, he quickly smiled and said YES! After moving around for a minute the doc smiled and said it was a GIRL! I could not believe my ears, or my eyes for that matter. When we got to the car, we both could not stop smiling. We are so excited for our bundle of joy to come to our family and cannot wait for her to get here. Now comes the hard part.....naming her :)
I tried uploading a pic of the ultrasound, but it looks horrible and grainy. Just going to have to wait till the real deal arrives to see her beautiful face I guess!
